The Tractor-Mounted Corn Silage & Forage Harvester is designed to simplify and accelerate the harvesting of forage crops used for livestock feeding and silage production. Instead of completing crop cutting, chopping and collection as separate operations, the machine combines several processes into one tractor-powered harvesting system. As the tractor moves through the field, the cutting mechanism harvests standing crop material before directing it into the chopping system. The internal cutting and shredding components reduce corn stalks, grass, sorghum and other suitable forage crops into smaller pieces that are easier to handle, transport, compact and preserve as silage. After chopping, the processed forage is discharged through the machine’s outlet or throwing system. The discharged material can be directed into a suitable trailer, collection vehicle or other receiving equipment travelling alongside or behind the harvesting operation. This continuous cutting, chopping and discharge process can significantly reduce the labour and time associated with conventional forage harvesting. The tractor-mounted configuration eliminates the need for a dedicated self-propelled harvester for many farming operations. Power is supplied by a compatible agricultural tractor, allowing farmers to utilise existing tractor equipment for seasonal forage harvesting. The machine is particularly suitable for corn silage production, where the entire plant may be harvested and chopped into manageable pieces before being transported for compaction and fermentation.
