The Single-Row Tractor-Mounted Plastic Mulch Applicator & Ridger combines soil preparation and mulch-film laying functions into one agricultural implement. Plastic mulch is widely used in vegetable and horticultural production to help retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, regulate soil temperature and protect the planting bed. Traditionally, ridge preparation and mulch installation can require separate operations. This machine is designed to simplify the process by preparing the soil bed and laying mulch film as the tractor moves through the field. The machine uses a single-row configuration, allowing one raised planting bed to be prepared during each pass. Its rotary soil-working section incorporates IT245 rotary blades, which help break and prepare the soil before ridge formation and mulch application. A central depth-limiting arrangement assists with controlling the operating depth so that more consistent ridge preparation can be achieved. After the bed is prepared, the mulch roll is guided across the soil surface. The machine keeps the film positioned over the bed while soil-contact components help secure the film edges. The matching configuration provides an estimated working efficiency of approximately 0.14 hectares per hour, although actual output will vary according to tractor speed, soil condition, bed dimensions and operator experience.
