Description

The Hydraulic Excavator Thumb Clamp Attachment converts a standard excavator bucket into a more versatile material-handling tool. When installed opposite the bucket, the hydraulic thumb closes toward the bucket to grip materials between the two components. This allows the excavator to securely pick up, hold, position and transport materials that would otherwise be difficult to control using the bucket alone. The attachment is particularly useful for handling agricultural waste, timber, tree branches, rocks, construction debris and other irregular materials. Hydraulic operation provides the operator with controlled opening and closing directly from the excavator’s hydraulic system. This enables faster and more precise material handling than fixed mechanical thumb attachments. The attachment is manufactured from Q355 high-strength structural steel, providing good resistance to bending, impact and demanding excavator working conditions. Multiple sizes are available to suit excavators ranging from approximately 1 to 24 tons. The smallest configuration measures approximately 910 × 220 mm and is designed for compact excavators in the 1–4 ton class, while the largest configuration measures approximately 1,530 × 410 mm and is suitable for excavators in the 18–24 ton class. Depending on the selected size, hydraulic flow requirements range from approximately 20 to 140 L/min, with working pressures ranging from approximately 90 to 180 kg/cm². The wide-tooth design and gripping profile help improve material retention when handling irregular objects. Installation can be adapted to different excavator buckets and mounting arrangements, making the thumb suitable for both new equipment installations and excavator attachment upgrades.
