The GTJ-R600 handheld concrete rebar scanner supports inspection of embedded reinforcement by combining rebar location, concrete cover measurement and diameter estimation in one instrument. Its compact design allows operators to move the scanner across accessible concrete surfaces and view readings directly on the integrated display. The instrument offers two concrete cover measuring ranges: a small range of 1–90 mm and a large range of 1–210 mm. These options accommodate different cover depths within the specified limits. Measurement accuracy varies with depth, from ±1 mm at 1–80 mm to ±2 mm at 81–120 mm and ±4 mm at 121–210 mm. A rebar diameter setting range of 6–50 mm allows the instrument to be configured for different reinforcement sizes. Separately, its diameter estimation function covers bars from 6–32 mm, with a stated accuracy of ±1 standard diameter size.
