Description

The Gravity-Fed Food Processing Metal Detector and Separator is an industrial inspection system developed for detecting metallic contamination in free-flowing products. It can be installed between processing, storage, weighing, or packaging equipment to inspect ingredients as they fall through the detection chamber. Products enter the machine through the upper inlet and pass through the metal-detection field under gravity. When no metal is detected, the product continues through the normal outlet. If metallic contamination is identified, the system activates an alarm and directs the affected material away from the accepted product stream through its separation mechanism. The machine can detect ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel. This includes contaminants such as iron, aluminium, brass, copper, and stainless steel fragments. Detection performance varies according to the metal type, particle orientation, product characteristics, inlet diameter, flow rate, and surrounding operating conditions. The product-contact structure is manufactured from 304-grade stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance and suitability for controlled food-processing environments. The gravity-fed design has no conveyor belt, making it especially suitable for powders, granules, grains, seeds, sugar, salt, spices, and similar free-flowing materials. The detector can be installed before filling or packaging machinery to support final product inspection. It can also be positioned earlier in a production line to protect grinders, mixers, extruders, pumps, dosing systems, and packaging equipment from damage caused by unexpected metal fragments.
