Description

The Double-Cut Rock Drilling Bucket is a rotary drilling attachment used in the construction of bored piles and foundation boreholes. It combines cutting and spoil collection in one tool, supporting the excavation process as the drilling rig advances through suitable ground formations. The double-cut configuration provides two cutting sections at the bucket’s base. During operation, the rig rotates the attachment and applies the required feed force, allowing the cutting tools to engage the formation. Excavated material enters the bucket and is brought to the surface when the tool is withdrawn. This drilling method supports repeated excavation cycles: cutting the formation, collecting spoil, lifting the bucket and emptying its contents before returning to the borehole. The appropriate bucket configuration depends on the rock characteristics, borehole diameter, drilling method and available rig torque. Selecting the correct cutting tools is particularly important for rock drilling. Tooth type, arrangement and wear protection should be matched to the formation being drilled. These details influence how the bucket engages the material and should be confirmed for the supplied configuration. The connection between the bucket and drilling rig must also be checked before ordering. Buyers should confirm the Kelly box dimensions, connection arrangement, bucket weight and the carrier’s operating limits. A matching connection alone does not establish that a drilling rig can operate every bucket diameter or weight.
