The Automatic Single-Row Potato Digger Harvester is designed to mechanise the demanding process of harvesting underground root crops, providing farmers with a faster and more efficient alternative to manual digging. The machine works along a single planted row, using its digging mechanism to penetrate beneath the crop and lift the potatoes together with surrounding soil. The harvested material is then passed through the separating mechanism, where loose soil and smaller debris are removed while the potatoes are brought towards the surface for easier collection. With an 800 mm working width, the harvester is well suited to single-row potato production and can efficiently follow planted ridges during field operations. The machine provides a working productivity of approximately 2–3.5 Mu per hour, allowing substantial areas to be harvested during a normal working period. Actual performance will depend on soil conditions, crop density, planting depth, tractor speed and field preparation. A gear-driven transmission system provides reliable mechanical power transfer during harvesting operations. The robust drive arrangement is suitable for repetitive agricultural work and helps maintain consistent operation as the machine travels through cultivated soil. The harvester has an approximate machine weight of 160 kg, providing a relatively compact configuration for tractor-operated agricultural harvesting. A listed total crop loss rate of below 3% helps improve crop recovery by reducing the amount of produce left behind during harvesting. The machine can be paired with a range of suitable agricultural tractors, with the listed tractor compatibility extending from approximately 25 HP up to 200 HP, depending on tractor configuration, field conditions and operational requirements. Although primarily designed for potato harvesting, the digging and soil-separation principle can also support compatible root crops where planting layout, harvesting depth and crop characteristics are appropriate. By mechanising digging, lifting and soil separation, the machine can significantly reduce the number of workers required for harvesting while helping farms complete harvesting operations within a shorter period.
