The Automatic Nursery Tray Seeder Machine is designed to significantly improve the speed, consistency and efficiency of plug-tray seedling production. Instead of manually filling nursery trays, forming planting holes and placing seeds individually, the machine combines several essential nursery operations into one continuous production process. Soil or growing substrate is distributed into the tray, planting holes are formed, seeds are accurately deposited and the tray is subsequently covered with growing medium. With an operating capacity of approximately 400–550 trays per hour, the system is particularly suitable for commercial seedling nurseries and agricultural operations where large quantities of uniform seedlings must be prepared within a limited production period. The machine provides more than 97% seeding precision, helping reduce missed cells, unnecessary reseeding and excessive seed consumption. A dedicated seed-recycling system collects unused seeds during operation, further helping minimise valuable seed waste. The seeding mechanism accommodates seeds measuring approximately 0.3–12 mm, giving the machine broad versatility across vegetable, flower and other nursery crops. Suitable applications include tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, watermelon, pumpkin, chilli and a variety of similar crops. An automatic photoelectric detection system helps coordinate machine operation by detecting the presence of nursery trays. The system is designed to prevent unnecessary soil feeding and seeding when a tray is not correctly positioned, improving operational consistency and reducing material waste. The soil-filling and tray-conveying sections incorporate variable-frequency speed adjustment, allowing conveying speed to be coordinated with subsequent processing stages. This supports smoother continuous production and allows the system to be adapted to different tray and crop requirements. The machine features a stainless-steel structure and straightforward one-button operation. An optional watering section can also be added after soil covering to provide an additional automated nursery preparation stage.
