Description
The Automatic 1,000–2,000 BPH Halal-Compatible Poultry Slaughtering and Processing Line is designed for commercial poultry farms, abattoirs, meat-processing facilities and integrated agricultural operations requiring consistent and controlled production. With a rated processing capacity of approximately 1,000–2,000 birds per hour, the line provides a practical solution for small and medium industrial poultry-processing facilities. Actual throughput depends on bird size, conveyor speed, operator staffing, equipment selection, inspection requirements and downstream chilling and packing capacity. The process normally begins in the live-bird receiving and hanging area. Birds are carefully removed from their transport containers and placed individually into overhead conveyor shackles. The conveyor then carries them through each selected processing stage at a controlled speed. Where electrical stunning is included, the settings must be carefully controlled to render the birds temporarily unconscious without causing death before slaughter. For halal-compatible operation, the stunning method, electrical settings and verification procedures must be approved by the applicable certifying authority. The birds are then moved to the slaughtering and bleeding section. Depending on the required configuration, slaughtering may be performed manually by trained personnel or with suitable mechanical assistance. A blood-collection trough is positioned below the conveyor to contain blood and support hygienic waste management. Adequate bleeding time is provided as the conveyor moves through the bleeding tunnel or designated bleeding section. Conveyor length and speed must be coordinated to ensure that birds are fully bled before entering the scalding system. Following bleeding, the birds enter the scalding tank. Controlled hot water loosens the feathers before mechanical defeathering. Water temperature, immersion time and agitation must be adjusted according to bird size, skin condition and the desired finished-product appearance. The scalded birds then pass through an automatic defeathering machine. Rotating rubber fingers remove feathers through controlled contact with the carcass. The defeathering equipment should be adjusted to achieve effective feather removal while limiting skin damage, broken wings and carcass bruising. After defeathering, the line may include equipment or workstations for head removal, foot cutting and hock processing. These stages can be automatic, semi-automatic or manual depending on the required capacity and investment level. The carcasses then enter the evisceration section. Operators or automatic equipment open the body cavity and remove the internal organs. The evisceration area can include inspection conveyors, offal collection systems, organ-processing stations and waste-transfer channels. Edible offal and inedible material should be separated into clearly identified processing routes. A synchronised inspection arrangement may be included to maintain the relationship between each carcass and its corresponding internal organs during veterinary or quality inspection. Once evisceration is complete, the carcasses are washed using controlled water sprays to remove visible contamination and loose material. Washing must form part of a complete hygiene programme and should not be treated as a substitute for correct evisceration, sanitation and contamination control. The washed carcasses are then chilled. Depending on the selected configuration, the line may use immersion pre-chilling, air chilling or another approved chilling method. Rapid and controlled chilling is important for maintaining product quality and managing microbial growth. An immersion pre-chiller uses chilled water and mechanical movement to transfer carcasses through the cooling stage. The system may be supported by refrigeration equipment, chilled-water circulation or flake ice. Water temperature, replacement frequency and carcass residence time must be controlled. After chilling, the carcasses are suspended or conveyed through a draining section to remove excess surface water. The products can then move to grading, weighing, portioning, packing or cold storage. The line can be supplied as a customised system based on the client’s building dimensions, bird characteristics, processing capacity and final product requirements. Factory layout planning should address product flow, personnel movement, drainage, refrigeration, waste handling and separation between dirty and clean processing zones. A complete installation may also include utility equipment such as hot-water generation, refrigeration, ice production, water treatment, compressed-air systems, electrical control panels and effluent-management equipment. These supporting systems are not automatically included unless stated in the confirmed quotation.
