Description

The 900W Solar Surface Water Pump is designed for agricultural applications requiring relatively high water volume at moderate pumping head. The system uses a brushless DC motor powered from a compatible photovoltaic array. Solar panels generate DC electricity, which is supplied to the pump through the control system. The pump operates on a nominal 96 V DC system, with a published operating voltage range of approximately 96–124 V DC. With a rated power of 900 W, the pump can provide a maximum flow rate of approximately 30 cubic metres per hour, equivalent to approximately 30,000 litres per hour under suitable operating conditions. The maximum pumping head is approximately 14 metres. This combination of high flow and moderate head makes the pump particularly suitable for transferring large volumes of water across farms, irrigating crops, supplying livestock tanks and moving water from reservoirs or surface water sources. The pump uses a 3-inch connection arrangement, allowing high-volume pipework to be connected without excessively restricting water flow. Its self-priming design simplifies surface installation. Unlike a submersible pump, the unit remains above the water source while the suction pipe extends into the water. The brushless DC motor eliminates conventional carbon brushes, reducing mechanical wear and helping improve motor efficiency and service life. An intelligent solar pump controller manages power supplied to the motor and helps accommodate changes in available solar energy throughout the day. Depending on the supplied system configuration, a complete solar pumping package can incorporate approximately 3 × 300 W solar panels, providing around 900 W of nominal photovoltaic capacity. The pump is well suited to locations where electrical infrastructure is unavailable or where operators want to reduce the operating costs associated with petrol or diesel-powered irrigation pumps.
