Description

The 8T electric capstan winch provides powered traction for demanding cable pulling and material positioning tasks. Its 7.5 kW electric motor drives a geared transmission with two operating speeds, allowing operators to select the pulling force and travel speed appropriate to the task. In forward low gear, the winch delivers a specified traction force of 80 kN at 5 metres per minute. This setting is suited to pulling operations requiring greater force and slower movement. Forward high gear provides 30 kN of traction at 11 metres per minute, offering faster movement where the required pulling force is lower. The winch also supports reverse operation, with specified reverse speeds of 5 metres per minute in low gear and 11 metres per minute in high gear. This capability assists with controlled rope movement and repositioning during pulling operations. A dual braking arrangement combines an automatic gear brake with a clutch interlock brake. The supplier describes this system as providing braking during both forward and reverse rotation. Internal gearbox components use oil lubrication to support the transmission during operation. The motor, gearbox and capstan are mounted on a common support frame. This arrangement provides an integrated unit for deployment at suitable work locations. Selection of the pulling rope, anchoring arrangement and electrical supply should match the confirmed requirements of the supplied machine. The 8T designation refers to the winch’s nominal traction class. The supplied table specifies pulling force in kN; it does not establish an approved suspended-load lifting capacity.
