The 500kg Orchard Fruit Bin Picking & Transport Trailer is designed specifically for transporting large harvesting bins between orchard rows, picking areas and collection points. During commercial fruit harvesting, filled fruit bins can be heavy and difficult to move efficiently. Conventional transport equipment can also create excessive vibration when travelling across uneven orchard surfaces, potentially increasing fruit bruising and damage. This specialised orchard trailer addresses these challenges through a purpose-designed low-profile transport system. Each trailer has a rated load capacity of 500 kg, providing sufficient capacity for compatible commercial fruit harvesting bins. The overall trailer dimensions are approximately 2,710 × 1,210 × 660 mm, producing a compact design that can travel efficiently through orchard rows. A 185 mm chassis ground clearance keeps the trailer relatively close to the ground, improving stability while still providing sufficient clearance for normal orchard terrain. The distance across the outside of the tyres is approximately 1,000 mm, producing a narrow transport profile suitable for movement between fruit trees. One of the main features of the trailer is its four adjustable damping devices positioned around the fruit-bin support area. These help absorb vibration and movement while the trailer travels across uneven ground. Reducing vibration is especially important when transporting sensitive harvested products such as apples, pears, peaches and kiwifruit, where excessive movement can result in bruising and reduced market quality. The trailer also uses wide tyres similar to those found on golf carts. The wider tyre footprint helps absorb bumps while reducing concentrated ground pressure on orchard surfaces. The main frame receives a hot-dip galvanized surface treatment, providing excellent resistance against corrosion caused by moisture, soil and outdoor agricultural conditions. For higher transport capacity, individual trailers can be connected together. A typical system consists of 4–6 trailer units connected as an orchard picking train. Each train configuration is supplied with a tractor towing support and a storage support, making connection, operation and storage more convenient. The trailer requires no independent engine, motor or battery. It is simply pulled using a compatible agricultural tractor or suitable towing vehicle.
